The Pathway Initiative (TPI) was recognized by Boston After School and Beyond as one of the top organizations making a lasting impact on youth development and engagement. The honor came during the network’s 20th anniversary celebration, which spotlighted organizations shaping brighter futures for young people across Boston.

For TPI, this recognition is more than an award—it’s a reflection of a mission in motion. Since its founding, TPI has worked to open doors for talented African American, Hispanic, and Latino students, helping them explore careers in medicine and the sciences through mentorship, exposure, and opportunity.

“This honor reminds us why we do what we do,” said Dr. Lawrence Mensah, Founder and CEO of The Pathway Initiative. “Every student we mentor represents a story of potential realized and a future reshaped. We’re proud to be part of a community that believes in giving young people the tools to thrive.”

TPI’s innovative mentorship loop—where alumni return to guide the next generation—continues to create ripples of empowerment. As the organization celebrates this recognition, it remains committed to nurturing youth potential, fostering equity, and inspiring the next wave of changemakers.
