As part of The Pathway Initiative’s Summer 2025 Program, students were treated to an engaging and insightful session led by Dr. Juma Bridgewater, who delivered a high-level presentation on chromatography, one of the most essential techniques in modern science.
Dr. Bridgewater walked participants through the fascinating world of chemical separation, explaining how chromatography plays a critical role in research, diagnostics, and drug development. Using real-world examples from his own scientific journey, he helped students connect the theory to practical applications in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and environmental science.

What made the session stand out was not only the depth of knowledge shared, but also Dr. Bridgewater’s ability to make complex scientific concepts both accessible and inspiring. His passion for research and mentorship resonated deeply with the students, sparking curiosity and discussion long after the session ended.
“Dr. Bridgewater reminded us that science is more than formulas; it’s about discovery, innovation, and impact,” said one participant. “His presentation opened our eyes to how techniques like chromatography shape the future of healthcare.”

The session was part of TPI’s commitment to exposing students to diverse STEM fields and connecting them with professionals who bring learning to life. Through experiences like these, the Summer Program continues to bridge the gap between academic study and real-world science, empowering the next generation of medical and research professionals to lead with purpose and passion.
