Who This Program is For
The Clinical Observation Program is designed for high school students interested in pursuing careers in medicine, nursing, or other healthcare professions. Ideal candidates are dedicated to learning about healthcare practices and are excited to engage with professionals in a clinical setting. Students must also demonstrate strong communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to explore the healthcare field.

- Shadowing Healthcare Professionals: Students will shadow doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during clinical hours, observing medical procedures, patient care, and daily routines.

High School Summer Program
- Duration: June to August
- Total Hours: 175 hours

Schedule: 15 hours per week
(Monday–Thursday, 9 AM – 1 PM) - Compensation: $15 per hour
- n-person Clinical Internship Experience
- Maximum Hours: 25 hours per week and 5 hours per day during the summer session
- In-person Clinical Internship Experience
- Maximum of 25 hours per week and 5 hours a day during the summer session
College Students & Recent Graduates
- Payment Rate: $20/hour (up to 240 hours)
- Summer Program: Runs from June - August
- Maximum Hours: 30 hours per week and 7 hours per day during the summer session
- Admin Positions Available Only
Program Requirements
To ensure the program aligns with the needs of committed students, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirements:
- Youth Program: Ages 16-18 and must be enrolled in high school, post-secondary education, or a GED/HiSET/Alternative Education program
- Youth Program Leader: Ages 19-24, community college and university students
- Immigrant or first-generation American students, with a priority for Black, Hispanic, and/or Latinx applicants
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate significant financial need, and must be eligible for programs such as the Pell Grant or Work-Study.
- Academic Standing: A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required to ensure a dedication to academic excellence.
- College Readiness: Applicants must have participated in college readiness programs during grades 9–12 to help ensure their success.
