Student Internship Program

Who This Program Is For

The Student Internship Program is open to high school juniors and seniors who intend to enroll in a four-year pre-medical college program immediately following high school graduation. Ideal applicants demonstrate persistence, leadership, and a desire to serve as role models and mentors for other students in underserved communities. Recipients must be interested in the medical profession but are also welcome to apply if their background is in any other STEM field.

Next application cycle opens in March 2025

Students will be selected on a rolling basis, so we strongly encourage students to apply as soon as possible to increase their chances of being accepted.

What This Program Offers

  • Career mentorship and socio-emotional counseling support
  • Support in life sciences and STEM education at the college level

Payment Structure:

  • School Year: $15 per hour for 10 hours a week (10-week program), from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.
  • Summer: $15 per hour for 15 hours a week (10-week program), from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Payment will be received in the form of a stipend, provided after consistent attendance and full completion of the program and associated research projects & assignments.

Program Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Immigrant or first-generation American
  • Demonstrate significant financial need (eligible for Pell Grant or Work Study)
  • At least 16 years old
  • Black, Hispanic, and/or Latinx
  • Minimum GPA requirement: 3.5
  • Participation in college readiness and access programs in grades 9, 10, and 11
  • Next application cycle opens in March 2025
